Microwave Spicy Chettinad Chicken Recipe

This spicy chicken recipe from chettinad is delicious and tasty dish for non-vegetarians. Now I learn you how to make microwave chettinad chicken recipe.


cooking time : 15 minutes


Ingredients for Marinade 

800 gm. chicken (cut into pieces)
1 cup hung curd
1 tbsp ginger-garlic-chilli paste
½ tsp chat masala
salt, red chilli powder to taste

Ingredients for masala gravy

1 cup chopped onion
1 cup chopped tomato
2 green chillies (chopped)
1 tsp garam masala
2 tbsp oil
1 cup water
salt & black pepper powder to taste
1 tsp mustard seeds
10-12 curry leaves
3-4 dry red chillies
a pinch of heeng (asafoetida)

Method for Microwave Chettinad Chicken 
  • Mix all the ingredients for the marinade and add chicken. Refrigerate it for 1 hour.
  • In a microwave safe bowl add oil, mustard seeds, red chillies and curry leaves & microwave at 100% power for 2 minutes.
  • Add chopped onions and tomatoes, green chillies and microwave for 5-6 minutes at 100% power. Add marinated chicken 1 cup water and  microwave (covered) at 100% power for 7-8 minutes. Reposition frequently.
  • Allow to stand for 5 minutes before serving. Serve hot with rice or roti.
