Makhmali Phirni Microwave Recipe

Recipe by Alka : Makhmali Phirni



This sweet and creamy dessert of Kashmir it so easy to make in microwave and also delicious to eat. 


Cooking time : 20 min. 



Ingredients for Creamy Makhmali Phirni 

3 cups toned milk
50 gm rice
100 gm sugar
½ cardamom power
1 tsp cream (whipped)


Method of Makhmali Phirni  

  • Clean, wash and soak rice in water for 20 min. Grind rice to form paste with little water.
  • In a microwave safe bowl, microwave milk at 100% power for 6-7 mins. 
  • Add sugar and rice paste to it.
  • Microwave covered for 7-8 mins. at 50% power or till it thickens.
  • Stir in between.
  • When cool, add whipped cream.
  • Microwave at 50% power for 3-4 mins.
  • Garnish with dry fruits and cardamom power. 
  • Chill it in the refrigerator.
  • Creamy Makhmali Phirni is ready to serve. Serve chilled.
